Mercury Recovery

Graphic of a drop of elemental mercury Quicksilver Mercury Recovery have been operating a mercury recovery / mercury decontamination service since 1998 on the Alchema site at Berwick upon Tweed.

The mercury recovery process is capable of handling a wide variety of material ranging from mercury waste from the Chlor Alkali Industry to mercury contaminated carbon, fluorescent lamp powder, contaminated soil, dental amalgam, mercury cell batteries and other inorganic mercury compounds.

Our Mercury Recovery plant processes material in batches of approximately 2 ton with a total annual capacity of approximately 1000 ton depending on the nature of the material.

Quicksilver Mercury Recovery Services are accredited to ISO 14001 and 9000:2000 standards and are members of both Sustainalite and Eurochlor.

Quicksilver Mercury Recovery also offers a full consultancy service for the assessment and management of mercury contaminent/spillage, from on-site inspection/assessment through to removal and treatment.

Quicksilver Mercury Recovery are in the process of procuring additional abatement systems to extend their service to the treatment of a wide range of organic based waste streams.
